Gobuichi, or Kitakata Gobuichi, was a small ski area in Kitakata City in the northwestern region of Fukushima Prefecture. It is unclear when the ski area opened, but at one time, it had one single lift, and it closed in 2001. The lift has been removed.

Further Information

  • This ski area was also known as Kitakata Gobuichi　喜多方五分一スキー場
    　
  • Records of a single lift at Gobuichi can be found, apparently on the left side of the slope
    　
  • Some online resources also mention a simple rope tow style lift, though that cannot be confirmed
    　
  • There is a small, abandoned (collapsed) building in the bottom left area of the slopes hidden in some trees
    　
  • When the ski area was operating it was open for night skiing until 9pm
    　
  • There was also a ski school and ski rental facilities
    　
  • Gobuichi closed at the end of the 2001 season
