雷神山スキー場　福島県喜多方市

Raijinyama was a ski area located in the southwestern region of Kitakata City in Fukushima Prefecture. It was a small ski area that was primarily visited by locals. The two rope tow lifts were removed around 2010. Since closing, trees have been planted on the old ski slope, and the area is now known as Raijinyama Hana no mori. The exact opening and closing dates cannot be confirmed.

Further Information

  • When Raijinyama Ski Area opened, it was part of Takasato Village  高郷村
    　
  • On one old map, the ski area was labelled as Takasato Ski Area  高郷スキー場
    　
  • Raijinyama was owned and operated by the village
    　
  • Takasato Village became part of Kitakata City  喜多方市  in January 2006
    　
  • There were two rope tow lifts on the left side of the slope, one following after the other
    　
  • 10 floodlights also lit up the slopes for night skiing
    　
  • There was also apparently a cross country course nearby, but no details can be found
    　
  • The rope tow lifts were removed sometime around 2010
    　
  • Two buildings remains at the base area
    　
  • While no signs remain at the location itself, some road signs for the ski area remain on approaching roads (see last photo)
    　
  • Since 2010 a large number of trees have been planted on the slopes
