Kunimidake was a ski area in Kasuga Village, now part of Ibigawa Town, in the western region of Gifu Prefecture. This privately owned ski area had up to five lifts, including three pair lifts, and it was popular for night skiing. Kunimidake struggled with snowfall in later years and was last open in 2019.

  • Kunimidake Ski Area was in Kasuga Village 春日村
    　
  • In January 2005, Kasuga became part of Ibigawa Town 揖斐川町
    　
  • The eastern-facing ski slopes were north of the 1,126m Kunimidake mountain
    　
  • An opening date cannot be confirmed, but it was probably mid- to late 1970s
    　
  • Kunimidake was a privately owned ski area (as opposed to being owned by a company)
    　
  • The remains of an old, long-abolished single lift can still be seen in the base area
    　
  • At one time, artificial snow-making machines were used at Kunimidake
    　
  • This ski area was popular for floodlit night skiing
    　
  • However, in later years of operation, the availability of night skiing was reduced
    　
  • Apparently, Kunimidake was not able to open at all during the 2020 season due to a lack of snow
    　
  • As it has not been open since then, it it was last open in 2019
