Hachimantai was a ski area located on the eastern slopes of Mt Hachimantai in the northern region of Iwate Prefecture. This ski area usually enjoyed a long season with heavy snowfall and it was popular for off-piste skiing. Hachimantai opened in the 1960s and closed in 2007.
