Matsukawa was a small ski area in what used to be Matsuo Village, now part of Hachimantai City, in the western region of Iwate Prefecture. It opened in 1965 with one single lift. The ski area closed in the early 1990s, soon after the larger Shimokura ski area opened nearby.
