松川スキー場 岩手県八幡平市

Matsukawa was a small ski area in what used to be Matsuo Village, now part of Hachimantai City, in the western region of Iwate Prefecture. It opened in 1965 with one single lift. The ski area closed in the early 1990s, soon after the larger Shimokura ski area opened nearby.

  • Matsukawa was a small ski area in Matsuo Village 松尾村 in the western region of Iwate Prefecture
     
  • The ski area was close to Matsukawa Onsen hot spring 松川温泉
     
  • It opened in 1965 and had one single ski lift
     
  • Matsukawa was popular as a local family ski area with slopes for varying abilities on either side of the lift
     
  • In 1989, the larger Shimokura ski area 下倉スキー場 opened nearby
     
  • After that, Matsukawa was available as a private slope (reserved) for a few years before closing
     
  • Matsuo Village became part of Hachimantai City 八幡平市 in 2005
     
  • Shimokura is still operating in 2024 and known as Hachimantai Resort Shimokura 八幡平リゾート下倉スキー場
