Shinrin Koen Suisu Mura
[Swiss Village Ski Resort]
Kyotango City, Kyoto
森林公園スイス村スキー場 京都府京丹後市
This ski area was known by several names. While it was officially called Shinrin Koen Suisu Mura in Japanese, it also sometimes used the English name Swiss Village Ski Resort. The ski area opened in 1984 in Yasaka Town, now part of Kyotango City, in the northern region of Kyoto-fu. Before officially closing, it endured one season when it could not open even for one day due to a lack of snow. Since 2022 the slope has been used for various snow activities, but the ski lifts are not used.
