Togari Kozakai

Togari Kozakai was a ski area located in Iiyama City in the north eastern region of Nagano Prefecture. It was located about 3km to the south of the larger Togari Onsen ski area. The slopes were serviced by two single lifts. There were plans for a third lift but that never happened. Togari Kozakai closed in 1983 after just 10 seasons of operation.

  • There were two single lifts at Togari Kozakai
    　
  • There were apparently plans for a third lift, but only two were ever built
    　
  • The two lifts were curiously named Number 1 and Number 3

  • Other than the concrete foundation for the lower ski lift close to the road, there is little evidence that there used to be a ski area in this location
