Sun Alpina Aokiko was a ski area located by Lake Aoki in the northern region of Omachi City in the north-western region of Nagano Prefecture, just to the south of Hakuba Village. Sun Alpina Aokiko was the central of three connected ski areas which were all known as 'Sun Alpina'. Sun Alpina Hakuba Sanosaka was to the north (the base of which is geographically within Hakuba Village) and Sun Alpina Kashimayari was to the south. A shared common lift ticket was available. Those two ski areas remain in operation and are currently known as Hakuba Sanosaka and Kashimayari.

  • Sun Alpina Aokiko used to be known as Sun Alpina Tokyu Aokiko  サンアルピナ京急青木湖
    　
  • When it was operating, Sun Alpina Aokiko was lift and course connected to the north by Hakuba Sanosaka, which was then known as Sun Alpina Hakuba Sanosaka  サンアルピナ白馬さのさかスキー場
    　
  • It was also lift and course connected to the south by Kashimayari, which was then known as Sun Alpina Kashimayari  サンアルピナ鹿島槍スキー場
    　
  • Individual lift tickets for Sun Alpina Aokiko as well as joint lift tickets covering all three connected ski areas were available
    　
  • For many, the three ski areas were collectively thought of as just one area known as Sun Alpina
    　
  • Kashimayari and Hakuba Sanosaka are still operating
    　
  • Aokiko was in the middle, so unfortunately the remaining two ski areas currently operate as individual areas with no lift and course connection... and no joint lift ticket
