Kiyomizu Kogen was a small ski area located in Yamagata Village, to the west of Matsumoto City in Nagano Prefecture. The nearby Skyland Kiyomizu accommodation has fine views overlooking Matsumoto City. This small ski area closed in 1998 and the slope has also been used as a golf practice area.

Further Information

  • In 1973 a facility called Kiyomizu-so きよみず荘 opened at this location
    　
  • The opening date of the small ski area is not confirmed, but perhaps it opened around that time as Kiyomizu-so
    　
  • Not much information can be found about the ski area other than the name
    　
  • A member of staff at the nearby facility mentioned a lift (probably a rope tow)
    　
  • The ski area apparently closed in 1998
    　
  • The accommodation became known as Skyland Kiyomizu スカイランドきよみず in 1995
    　
  • What used to be the ski slope was also used as a golf practice area
    　
  • The golf practice building is still there, but that also now seems to be unused
    　
  • There are some floodlights by the side of the slope, but it is unclear if they were for skiing or golf (or both?)
    　
  • The slope might not seem steep for skiing but it does for golf!
