A look back at ski areas from Japan’s past 過去の日本のスキー場を懐かしむ
Suidosan
Mitsuke City, Niigata Prefecture
水道山スキー場 新潟県見附市
Suidosan was a ski area located on the eastern side of the small mountain of the same name in Mitsuke City, Niigata Prefecture. Unfortunately, it is one of those ski areas for which very little information is available - even locals in the fields at the base were not aware that there used to be a ski area in their neighbourhood! It appears that Suidosan was open in the 1970s, and while there were some floodlights for night skiing, there were no ski lifts.
