Gejo Nakatoge

下条中峠スキー場　新潟県十日町市

Gejo Nakatoge was a small ski area located to in the Gejo neighbourhood of Tokamachi City in Niigata Prefecture. The gentle slope was serviced by one t-bar lift and it was mostly used by local children and schools. There are now large solar panels on the lower part of the hill, as seen in the below photographs.

  • Gejo (or Gejou)  下条  is the name of this neighbourhood of Tokamachi City
    　
  • Gejo Nakatoge was mostly used by locals, children and schools
    　
  • A special closing 'thank you' event was held on 17th March 2013 to say goodbye to the t-bar lift and skiing on this hill
    　
  • This ski area was locally known as just Nakatoge  中峠スキー場
    　
  • There was also another ski area known as Nakatoge in neighbouring Uonuma City
    　
  • To distinguish between the two ski areas, this one was generally called Gejo Nakatoge  下条中峠スキー場
    　
  • The other ski area was called Irihirose Nakatoge 入広瀬中峠スキー場  (more information here)
    　
  • The lower area now features solar panels
