Family Snow Park Bandai x2 is a ski area on the eastern slopes of Mt Bandai in Inawashiro Town in Fukushima Prefecture. For many years this ski area was known as Bandai Kokusai ski area with four pair lifts and one single lift servicing the slopes. After a period of closure between from 2002, it reopened as Family Snow Park Bandai x2 in 2008 with two lifts remaining.

Further Information

  • This ski area was originally known as Bandai Kokusai 磐梯国際スキー場
    　
  • It had five ski lifts - four pair lifts and one single lift
    　
  • That ski area closed in 2002 when the operating company went bankrupt
    　
  • After a change in management, it re-opened in 2008 under the new name, Family Snow Park Bandai x2
    　
  • The top lift was abandoned, leaving just two pair lifts operating (shown in white on the above aerial image)
    　
  • The inclusion of the word 'family' in the ski area's name was a clear indication of the new target audience
    　
  • The ski area was last open during the 2020-2021 season
    　
  • It was closed for the entire 2021-2022 season due to covid-19 situation
    　
  • The ski area has not opened since, and at the time of writing, there do not seem to be any rumours suggesting a possible re-opening
    　
  • Signage from the old Bandai Kokusai era was still visible during a visit to the location in May 2022
