Sarugakyo was a small local ski area located a few kilometres from the Sarugakyo Onsen hot springs area of Minakami Town in the northern region of Gunma Prefecture. Very little information can be found about this ski hill… even after talking with Minakami locals…

  • Very few confirmed details can be found about this small ski area
    　
  • It was located in a secluded area about 2km to the north of the main Saruyakyo Onsen  猿ヶ京温泉  hot springs area of Minakami
    　
  • There is a small car park by the base which now is a small park-like area with flowers on the lower area and trees on the gentle slope
    　
  • In winter, the area is used as a place for what is called a 'powdersurf experience' activities  パウダーサーフ体験  (walk up on snow shoes and ride down on a board)
    　
  • The Sarugakyo area is also known for a bungy jump facility off the nearby 60+m bridge and the pretty Akaya Lake  赤谷湖

About 17km from the Tsukiyono IC exit and 21km from the Minakami IC exit of the Kanetsu Expressway.
About 16km from Jomo Kogen Station on the Joetsu Shinkansen line.
