Numata was a small ski area located to the north of the central area of Numata City in Gunma Prefecture. It opened in 1965 and closed in 1988. The Shimin no mori park can currently be found at this location.

Further Information

  • This quiet and pretty area is now called Shimin no mori  市民の森
     
  • Shimin no mori is a pretty forest park featuring many varieties of trees
     
  • It is unclear how many of the trees were planted since the ski area closed... or exactly where the ski lifts were positioned!
     
  • Numata closed around the same time as the larger Tambara Ski Park opened
     
  • Tambara Ski Park is about 7km to the north of this location
