Shirahone Onsen
Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture
白骨温泉スキー場 長野県松本市
Shirahone Onsen was a ski area in what used to be Azumi Village, now the western region of Matsumoto City in Nagano Prefecture. It was about 1.5km from the famous onsen hot springs of the same name. The ski area initially opened without a ski lift in 1955. Subsequently, a rope tow lift and a single lift were added, but the ski area closed in 1970. The concrete foundation of the single lift remains, but it is surrounded by large trees and undergrowth.
