Muikamachi Sakado was a ski area located close to the central area of the Muikamachi town area of Minamiuonuma city in Niigata Prefecture. It was located on the north-western foothills of Mt Sakado and the National Historic site of the Sakado Castle ruins is nearby. This ski area used to be known as Sakado Joshi which literally means ‘Sakado castle ruins’. It is unclear when the name changed.
